The Wolseley

We were taking clients out for dinner this evening and one of them suggested The Wolseley. Having read some of the reviews I wasn't really expecting much but have actually had a super meal, in very pleasant surroundings, served by couldn't have been nicer waiting staff !

I wish I knew what style the decor is - someone tells me that the building was once the showroom for the Wolseley motorcar - how grand !

I chose the chicken, my partner had fish. Everything was wonderful,( vegetables of particular note) My starter of Minted Salad was scrumptious. Pecan tart followed ( just a little dry ).

Our order was taken by a woman with a French accent but a rather Teutonic aura, mysterious......

Our meal was served by a dazzlingly attentive young man with style and great attention to detail.

I think the meal was a little pricey and I certainly wouldn't be a regular because of that but as a treat it was ideal. We also managed to find parking nearby ( a small miracle) which added to the experience.

Bon appetit
