Sam's Brasserie & Bar

A favourite local restaurant of ours with very nice, casual feel and high quality food. Not cheap however so ecpect major assault on your wallet. There is also an excellent bar with interesting clientele where they serve coffee and good bar snacks too which is sometimes a good alternative to a bigger sit down meal.

bar is even better now that they have banned smoking at last. Whew...can breathe now and not go home smelling like I've been marinaded in nicotine all night!

Frankie's Braganza

Nice looking restaurant. Swish design and in good location on Chis High Rd. But (and like Beyonce, its a big butt) the portions are absolutely parsimonious. Serious portion control in evidence when I went. My wife is a fan but I won't go back - despite being given one of their 20% lifetime discount cards - as I had to have a second dinner when I went. C'mon guys, when you are charging as much as you are for a main course don't be so mean - it's really counterproductive. You think you are saving money but you won't see any of mine again.

Fat Boys (Chiswick)

Trading on past glories I'm afraid! I took some foodie friends here thinking that it would still be good and was really embarassed by the experience. The decor is still awful but the food, previously excellent, was poor too. A better Thai in the area is the Thai Bistro - again not what it was but still better than this dive.
