The formula here is perfect - good food, exceptionally good value, well located, and friendly staff. When 2 people go for a 3 course meal, with wine, beer, mineral water and the food includes sea bream and mussels, and the bill comes to only £27, can anyone REALLY complain?
Granted, this is not the Ritz, and if you go here expecting service or food like you would from Claridges or similar, you'll be disappointed. But that's just common sense, and in the same way, don't go to McDonalds and order the fillet-o-fish if you're after a premium seafood dish. If, however, you want a simple, tasty, good value meal before going to the theatre, you'd be wise to visit Bistro 1.
