1776 Restaurant

I took a client to the Brasserie today for a business lunch and was suitably impressed. Bright, airy space adequately filled with waiting staff who look as though they may have recently left the catwalk. Service was friendly, efficient and unintrusive. My geust started with a blue cheese and celery soup which looked, tasted and smelt wonderful, thick and unctuous. I opted for the perfectly cooked pork belly with apple chutney. The meat was beutifully moist and flavoursome with a pleasing crsip crackling on top. For main course I had the grilled calfs liver (cooked as requested) with bacon and sherry cider vinegar. The live was fresh and though rare served warm. My guest opted for a large salad course with advocado, egg,etc. Though feeling plump we both opted for a creamy and genorous Eton Mess. All in, this was a good meal, well executed and served with flair.

I would be tempted to dig a little for dinner and try the restaurant. Bill for two with a glass of wine each was £100. Not bad for such quality in the City. Sadly, rare!
