Wahaca (Covent Garden)

One of the best mexican restaurants I've come across in London, as long as you're patient!! The restaurant has just opened and is understandably going through some early adjustments.

We got there around 730pm on a Thursday and the wait for 2 was over 2hrs long. The host wasn't particularly organized and was trying to be accomodating to people by taking down their mobile numbers - and then calling them when their table was ready. We sat there watching this and it was the most inefficient process!! There were so many people who walked out because of the wait, but what was more frustrating was that there were tables that remained empty because of their "mobile phone" system.

When we finally go seated (which took about an hour and that was only because we complained about the empty tables) the rest of the evening was really nice. The place has got a great atmosphere, the staff were really helpful and were happy to explain what dishes were for people who have only had generic mexican food. Prices were really reasonable and it came to £40 for 2 (with a drink each).

Personal suggestions are the chicken enchilada, the tacos, the frijoles tostadas and of course the churros w/ chocolate! The had run out of some dishes because it was busy, but I'd go back again to try them out...but maybe in a few months after the initial craze has calmed down!
