Wild Honey

What a dissappointment. I recently visited Wild honey with my brother. He recruits chefs for restaurants and expects a reasonable standard. I'm more forgiving generally. Wild honey ain't forgiven not even with 100 hail marys I love Arbutus; have been there several times and recommended it to numerous others. However Wild honey despite being similar is like the ugly twin sister. I quickly intercept the review by highlighting my food was of a high standard. My brother's meal wasn't and he had to send his monkfish back after we realised they had missed two of the main ingrediants from the accompaniment. However it was more the appauling service. I lost count of the number of times we had to ask for things more than once: our drinks, our wine, glasses, menus, etc. Not really great considering the price. The barman moaned about it being so busy, which it wasn't particularly. They just seemed understaffed. We were sitting at the bar having booked quite late but if the restaurant can't cope with the extra settings at the bar then on't take bookings. The barman who prepared our predinner cocktails looked like it could have been his first time on the bar. He made such a mess of an £8 drink it was embaressing. Fortunately they forgot to add them onto the bill. The wine glasses were warm for the chilled white wine. The barman just seemed poorly trained and unmanaged. I won't be going back and neither will my brother. Arbutus is another story.....
