Had lunch today. Food was nice and fresh, but the staff is so unfriendly: from the girl at the bar, to the waiters, all of them look grumpy and annoyed....

Kulu Kulu Sushi (Brewer Street)

Very good sushi, and plenty of choice. The atmosphere is not great since the place is a bit dull and crowded. Had to queue only for 10 mins. Price was reasonable.

Centonove

I had a late dinner on Sat night with 2 friends before going clubbing, and we had a good time and good dinner, but at a price of 50 each which is not cheap. The place wasn't too crowded and it was relaxing and friendly.

Ups: food is good (not really authentic Italian, but good), waitresses are pretty. Downs: small portions at very expensive prices

Cristini (Sussex Place)

Decent food at reasonable prices, but I don't agree with all those high marks: for me it's nothing special. I'm Italian and I've tried much better food believe me.

Carluccio’s

I'm Italian and I find Carluccio the perfect place to have good Italian food at a very reasonable price, in a nice and modern environment. This new franchise in Covent Garden is very well decorated and service is very attentive.

Lowlander

I love the beers and quite like the food. Atmosphere is not great since all seats are very close and there is a lot of noise. Go there for some nice Belgian ale and a good steak.

Bluebird Restaurant

I had brunch on Sunday with friends. Service is quite dismal, since waiters forget things and food and drinks come after a long while. Overall, not a bad experience, but nothing to remember.

Donna Margherita

I'm Italian. I visited this restaurant twice and only had pizza, which I think is great and close to the original from Naples. The atmosphere is nothing special, but the pizza is great and worth a visit. The 2 polish waiters speak italian and are very friendly.

Barrafina

I went with a friend on Friday night and had to wait for over 1h... you wouldn't wait that long in Spain to eat some tapas, but here in London there are just a handful of good tapas bars, so you have to wait.

While waiting we had some tapas and wine, so it wasn't too bad and service was swift and friendly. When we finally got a seat at the bar, we only had 1 main course, but overall we were happy about the place and the food. The bill was £45 each since we had 3 glassess of wine each, which was of very good quality.

I would recommend this place, but I think it's too crowded for what it is. Go on a Monday / tuesday night, they say it's less busy.

Pizzeria Oregano

Had dinner there with other Italian friends. Food is not bad but not worth a 8 or 9 mark! I had calamari which were fresh and well fried. Pizza is just OK, since the dough is more similar to bread than the original soft napolitan pizza base... The place is really basic so don't expect a great atmosphere.

Inn The Park

I feel that all the bad comments have already been written before, but why not share my experience?

I think this would not be an awful place, if only they charged half of the price!

I went there for a team lunch with colleagues:

- food was not bad, but steak and coffee came luke warm... definetly not good value for money;

- the view from the inside dining area is great, but the room is quite small and noisy: this area is shared with the cafeteria, plus there was a constant smoke of burnt food coming out of the open plan kitchen;

- my boss was unhappy and decided not to pay for the service: the staff is so careless that nobody asked him why...

So, was it a bad lunch? No. Would I go back and pay £40 for the same experience I could get at cafe' rouge? No!!!!

Fifteen

Had Sunday lunch in the Trattoria upstairs. The food is fantastic and ingredients very fresh (I am Italian and I believe this is good italian cusine). Moreover the prices are ok, since we paid £65 for 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 glasses of wine. Would definetly go back. Unfortunately the location is not great.
