Wahaca (Covent Garden)

I never write reviews about restaurants on websites but feel so strongly about Wahaca that I must.

The locale is phenomenal, beautiful, minimal decoration and friendly staff. The food however does NOT resemble any sort of Mexican cuisine (in particular streetfood which has flavor) and is flat out bad. As we ordered in a group we tried nine different dishes, none of which were good. The corn on the cob was tasty, but that is not a very challenging thing to do. The fish tacos were not edible and the frijoles tostadas had black beans out of a can and feta cheese (Greek, not Mexican). The other dishes had no particular flavor, the guacamole draped on the chicken taco was green but had no avocado.

Not many options for Mexican in London but any of the other handlful of Mexican places around the area are infinitely better.
