Tamarind
Nice food in rather plain surroundings. I think this restaurant is surviving from the reputation of it's former chef Atul Kochhar who has moved on to open Benares. There was little to hold this Michelin starred restaurant distinct from many very good upmarket Indian restaurants in London.

The Cinnamon Club
I took American visitors to this beautful old library. They were blown away by the food, the ambience and the service. We had the tasting menu and not a tikka masala or a korma in sight. Every little innovative dish was beautifully prepared and presented. For special mention, the tandoori pigeon breast and the red deer were unusual but delicious examples of Indian & British fusion. A good wine list that complements spicy food. Pricy but worth it.
