Le Deuxieme
Ate here on Saturday evening before going on to the Donmar, which was a five minute walk away. We had booked for 5.45. but even though we were half an hour late the staff were very nice and held our table. The service was fast and friendly. The staff work really hard , ensuring that all the theatre goers get away on time. The food was absolutely delicious. We only had time for one course and coffee, but hopefully next time we go we can enjoy more of the excellent cooking.

Whits
Tried Whits one evening before going on to a Prom concert. We were greeted by a charming lady. Beautifully cooked food and lovely atmosphere. I only wish we had more time , so we could have had a pudding! Will definitely return.

Arquati Bistro & Restaurant
Ate at Stranded on Saturday 21st August . Table was booked for 5pm as we were going on to the theatre. Very efficient service meant we had three courses and coffee with time to spare. The food was on the whole good although my lamb was overcooked for my personal taste - but all round a very nice meal in pleasant surroundings at a reasonable price.. Ideal for pre-theatre.

The Walpole
Went for lunch today - 20th August - with my mother and daughter. Food was really good and lots of it. Two of us had the gammon which was delicious and my daughter had the chicken, which she rated highly. Would love to go back and try out the evening menu.

Frankie's Knightsbridge by Marco Pierre White
My husband and I ate here on Wednesday 18th August. Had to be an early booking - 5.30. because we were going on to the Proms. So it was quiet - but that didn't bother us. Fun decor and I can imagine later in the evening there would be a great ambience. At last a chef that cooks steak properly! Ordered medium rare and that's what I got - it was delicious. My husband had chicken which he was pleased with too. Wine good. Puddings lovely. Good service. Will go again and would recommend.

Green Door Steakhouse
Visited on Saturday 6th September for a pre-concert meal. Very impressed with the service and friendly staff. I ordered the T-bone steak, which was just ok. My husband had sirloin which was extremely chewy. Disappointing and would not be in a hurry to rush back.

Pierino
Decided to visit Pierino based on the high scores on London-eating and it being close to the Albert Hall. In fact they advertise in the Proms prospectus. Our visit was early evening on July 18th. Both my husband and myself were very disappointed with our meals. We had both ordered chicken dishes. Mine being described as a casserole, arrived in a sticky sauce with clumps of rice. I left most of it. My husbands was overcooked and dry. The staff seemed friendly enough, but I would not say the service was particularly speedy. Perhaps the outcome would have been better had we stuck to pasta or pizza.

The Ambassador
The Ambassador is a real find. Ate here on Friday 25th April before going on to Sadlers Wells. Unfortunately we only had time for one course, due to a 7.30. performance start. Our food arrived exactly at the time our waitress said it would and was cooked to perfection.Friendly helpful staff, great food and a reasonable bill. If only all restaurants could reach this standard. We look forward to returning when we have time to enjoy more of the menu.

La Poule au Pot
My husband and I ate here on Sunday 18th November .It was our wedding anniversary and we had a perfect evening. The staff were charming and helpful., and the service was good. I loved the decor and ambiance.The food was tasty and plentiful. Would definately recommend.
