Le QuecumBar

I read a number of reviews about this restuarant and Gypsy jazz bar but was interested to go to listen to the music although I am a blues fan at heart.I took my girlfriend basis she wanted a different kind of an evening out and we were both pleasantly surprised. I phoned and was advised that if I wanted to come that saturday there was live music .If we came after 8 there would be a £5 cover charge per head. I was told it was defray the cost of the musicians and to dissuade people coming off the streets later in the evening just to stay and listen to the music. Fair enough. Music was really great, a singer and a two man combo had the whole place going. Thanks prev reviews, so got our drinks and wine before we sat down and then the wait for the food wasnt so bad. Everybody seems to order at the same time but the staff, though rushed ,really do seem to try. Lots of interesting items on the menu, We had snails/soup starters and venison burger / steak main courses which were hot and fine. It took about 15 mins for starters to come , main about 20 mins later .Not too bad really. We met the owner, Sylvia, who was very friendly and knowledgable. My girlfirend is now on their e mail list for future events. She loved the atmosphere and the decor. Well ,we both did. Next time we will get there early to get a better view of whoever is playing. It was a really nice experience for us.
