The Walpole

A colleague of mine came into work one day raving about the Walpole and so we gave it a try about 2 months ago. Everything about this place is fantastic...the apperatifs, the service, the food, the wine, the atmosphere, everything! It really is the best place around for truly home-cooked food in a very friendly setting - and it does feel like you're eating at a friend's house.

We've off there again tonight, with a prepared strategy this time of:

- sharing ONE piece of bread whilst we check out the menu

- and then no doubt sharing another whilst Wendy goes through the menu in such fantastic detail and whilst we then undoubtedly change our minds because she makes it all sound so wonderful (her descriptions will a) have you entranced like a child listening to a bed time story, and b) salivating profusely so make sure you've located your napkin before she starts!);

- sharing starters and

- sharing desserts (if we ever get that far!).

It's now 12.40 on a Friday afternoon and I can't help but count the hours, minutes, seconds until I'm there again. Roll on tonight!
