I can not understand some of these negative reviews...I have been to Gilgamesh on numerous occasions and received not only fabulous delicious food but always served by really friendly, happy staff who are very well informed of what they are serving.
I would suggest that Gilgamesh is a must see of London...Camden is a much nicer place these days generally and Gilgamesh is a real gem not to be missed!
The food by Chef Ian Pengelley is delicious the lamb madra dish is just fantastic! It looks good and tastes incredible. The Sashimi and Sushi are all made with the finest quality fish and its very obvious a lot of care goes into every dish...I love watching the Sushi being mad from the restaurant. If you are going in a big group try to book Table 19 its a round table up higher than the others so you get to see over the restaurant and into the kitchen...its very impressive and always a winner...I booked it for a family dinner and my parents were thrilled..they felt very special...seats about 8 I think.
The desserts are always very well thought out with beautiful oriental tea cakes or more traditional chocolate fondant made to perfection!
The music is very good, and in keeping with the restaurant...and then more commercial music is played in the Babylon bar where you go to drink after dinner rather than the lounge bar. I have been very impressed with Gilgamesh and highly commend them on bringing something very special to Londdon. Do visit it and if you go...try the cocktails..they are so well out together you cant stop drinking them!
