We went to Caponata following a concert in the venue below which overran to the extent that we were about an hour late for our table booking and it was late in the evening. I have to say that staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating, and I suspect some staff had to stay on as a result.
There was no skimping on service levels or food quality both of which were excellent. The food was full of flavour and well presented with a good wine list.
It was our first visit there, but it won't be the last. There were a lot of dishes that looked worth a try and what we actually had was of a very high standard.

This really is the most fabulous place to spend time. Every time we go the variety of dishes make chosing a difficult task so it is lucky that they have small portions as well as entree size selections. That way you can work your way through a wider range of dishes. Everything is fresh and full of flavour. The cheeses are superb.
The wine list is extensive and unusual with some fresh alternatives to the usual run of the mill wine list.
Service is good and the atmosphere is busy.

Food 10 | Service 10 | Atmosphere 10 | Value for money 10
Having been to this restaurant many times over the years, and loved it, I was hugely disappointed (and embarrassed for my guest) to return after a break of a year or so to find that the standard of the food had plummeted, but not as far as the service. We had to ask for bread 4 times before getting any, the waitress could not remember any of our requests and we were told to stop fussing when we asked for the bill for the third time. The hot food was cold and the flavours (apart from the parfait) were bland. This is such a shame as it used to be a wonderful place to go. Perhaps it has become a victim of its own success.
