Pradips Vegetarian Restaurant
After reading a lot of good reviews and buying some of their stuff from our local supermarket, we suddenly decided to try out Pradips. We, a group of 8 went in on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was quiet which seemed like an ideal venue for family parties. For the ambience, we would rate the restaurant at 7/10
Having looked through the menu, the items seemed impressive. Very few restaurants have a small description underneath every dish and we were impressed by Pradips for this. For starters we ordered the following:
Dahi Puri (9/10) - Delicious, one of the finest we had seen; Jeera Mogo (7/10) - Nicely prepared, the jeera flavour was a bit unusual but very good; Hara Bhara Kebab (8/10) - Highly recommended, full of greens to keep yourself fit.; Bean Wrap (3/10) - A bit disappointed with this one. Didn't taste like any of the Mexican wraps we usually are accustomed to.; Dahi Wada (8/10) - Looked fresh, tasted great.; Chilli Paneer (8/10) - Bit different but very nice
Our main course was fairly limited since we had a lot of the starters: Undhyu (7/10) - Good; Corn Paneer (8/10) - Paneer cooked very well; Roti (8/10) - Tasted as usual
Methu Paratha (9/10) - Rarely will you find such a paratha, fresh from the gas, tender and tasty.; Thali (8/10) - Good combination of hot curries and roti.
A gentleman called Sanketh took care of us while we feasted. He was just excellent in his service. The food was quick, we didnt have to wait for anything. Well done Sanketh, for this we would like to rate the service at 8.5/10
Overall, adding to all the ratings, it comes to 98.5/130. Overall we were very pleased.

Papa J's Harrow
Went to Papa J's last night as a part of my leaving do and delighted to write up a review on the restaurant.
Reached there at 1945, Initially we ordered a few drinks along with peanut masala which consisted of peanuts mixed with diced onions, chillies and corriander leaves. It was kind of a pre starter and tasted good while we were gossiping.
Then came the turn for starters, we ordered Garlic Mushroom, Paneer Tikka & Veg Manchurian for us veggies and Masala Lamp Chops, Tilapia Fish Tikka & Chicken Sheekh Kebab for the rest. The quantity was unbelieveable and we thought that we would not have to eat anything more. The taste, simply awesome. I am a vegetarian so can't comment about the non vegetarian food. Garlic mushrooms (8/10) Paneer Tikka (9/10) Veg Manchurian (10/10) Manchurian was amazing, the best I've ever had so far. Highly impressed.
Time for an another round of drinks after the hearty starters.
Now we ordered the main course, we ordered Palak Paneer (Veggie) and Lamb Curry on the Bone along with butter naan & cheese naan. Next on the menu was Jeera Rice. Again, the food was superb. I'd give Palak paneer , cheese naan & the rice all 8/10. The paneer was fantastic, wondered how they manage to cook them.
Again, another round of drinks.
To end the meal , we chose a host of desserts which included home made mango ice cream, gulab jamun, calypso coffee, espresso & cafe latte. I had the mango ice cream and gulab jamun which gets a full 10/10. The ice cream tasted exactly what it was, "home made". Gulab Jamun would simply melt in your mouth. Could not have asked for any better ending.
The only let down would be the decor of the restaurant, green walls do not really make a great ambience but who really cares when you got the food.
All credits to the person named Meghraj (Young guy with glasses) who served us. He made sure our dishes came on time and he really went an extra mile for it. He gets full 10/10 for the service provided.
In short, would I recommend Papa J's ? Without a doubt yes !

Rani Vegetarian Restaurant
Went there with parents to celebrate their silver jubilee. Ordered the starters, they were not really great. Dahi puri had a lot of onions in it, the highest onion content Ive seen in any dish so far (3/10). Next came main course, so we decided for a change and ordered their highly publicised Masala dosa and the potato curry was too dry to eat and the actual dosa was crisp (3/10). At the same time we ordered some curry and naan which was good (7/10). In the end we ordered ice cream which was great (8/10).
Service is fast (8/10) Atmosphere is top class (8/10) Sadly, the restaurant can be a bit pricey for people who are not rich, £20 pp (6/10 on value)
The restaurant does need to improve its food if they have to compete with other Indian restaurants in Finchley.

Blue Ginger Bar Restaurant
Ive been to BJ three times till now and will always say this is a superb bar/restaurant. Their mixed platter is a boon for parties and tastes quite well. Their starters are top notch (8/10). Main courses are good (7/10), Desserts good taste but a small variety (8/10). It can be a bit pricey if you drink a lot (5/10). Overall, the ambience is great and can be a perfect venue for small office parties.
I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who likes good food coupled with great ambience.
