A Dil Se Lounge

We went there last week as we knew this place had opened recently. Being a new place, we decided to order some local favourites - Chilli Paneer & Spici mogo as starters. They were amazing, the mogo was the finest we ever had. Even the mains were absolutely delicious.

Service is fast, the waiters make sure you are well catered to.

We always try going to various restaurants and till date we can safely say that Dil Se Lounge is the best indian restaurant we ever been to. 10/10 on all aspects.

Celebrity Restaurant

Finally, I've been waiting for almost a year to write a review on the restaurant. I could have written a detailed review but don't know which of my visits to describe hence will write a general review of all visits combined together.

I've been to this place a number of times and I have always been impressed. The decor is quiet and orangy feel which gives the perfect setting for a dinner. The food at this place is amazing, make sure you try paneer lawabdar & sizzler atleast once during your visit. Also, when it comes to drinks their passion fruit juice is one of the best I've ever had anywhere.

Special mention to Mr Kamlesh who makes sure that everything is running tip-top.

Only Parathas

We visited this restaurant last Sunday (2 Aug) after a recommendation of a friend of mine who celebrated his b'day there the previous day. Being in regular search of good restaurants, I was quite intrigued not having heard the name of the restaurant henceforth decided to give it a try. Situated near Queensbury, this place is not hard to find at all for those who know the place very well. We reached the restaurant and found the place very relaxing. The decors were great as you would see aquariums and soft lights which calm your mind (8/10).

Getting to the food bit, we ordered Crispy bhajiyas as starters. The bhajiyas tasted as you would have expected (8/10). Then we decided to order what we really came here for - parathas. One clever thing the restaurant had done was to integrate parathas with some chole, daal, yoghurt and some salad; you could not order a separate paratha alone. You get 4 big pieces of parathas and can enjoy them with the accompainments given without ordering anything extra. There was a huge list of parathas varying from the humble aloo paratha to more exotic rajma (red kidnet beans) & paneer paratha. We ordered a aloo & cheese, capsicum & onion and & paneer paratha. Looking at the portion size, we were glad we ordered three for the four of us. The parathas were great, especially capsicum & onion (9/10) which we thought was the best of the lot. & panner (7.5/10) followed by aloo & cheese (7/10) followed after it. The chole, daal & yoghurt were quite good (8.5/10) . Perhaps, what they could have done was having different accompaniments for different parathas, this would have given it the perfect edge. Finally we decided to a Chinese dosa, it was basically a dosa with some stir fry vegetables used as the filling, not quite what you really expect (6/10). For the dessert we ordered a Sizzling chocolate brownie. The brownie came and the guy poured fresh cream on it creating small "fireworks" type of setting, best of all it tasted good (9/10).

The service was remarkable, you get your food within 10 mins of ordering. They accidentally served us cheese dosa instead of chinese dosa but were quick to rectify that so no issues with that. Service - 9/10

We would be going there today as well as my brother in law is a big paratha lover than me (says my wife, i don't believe :-p)

The Brilliant Restaurant

Me & my wife decided to give Brilliant restaurant a visit after reading the reviews.

The ambience of the restaurant was good. Very few noises going around. Best treat was to watch a video of Gordon Ramsay's visit to the restaurant for filming one of his cookery shows.

For the starters we ordered some spicy Mogo chips. The mogos were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. It was a good start and looked quite positive. Then we ordered Panner Jalfrezi which was cottage cheese cooked with mixed vegetables. The appearance all the three green, red, yellow peppers made it looked quite appetising. It went very well with plain kulcha bread which was well done, hot and soft, just as we liked it.

At the end of the meal, we were given complimentary mint chocolates. Overall, the service was quick and they receive full marks for it.

The only letback was the ginger ale, compared to what you usually get in supermarkets, this one was pale in flavour.

I would look forward to visiting this restaurant again.

Chiquito (Staples Corner)

Good food but way too pricey. A burger with chips for £8, Fajitas for £8. C'mon this place has the potential of being one of the best Mexican restaurants but is let down by the prices.

Pradips Vegetarian Restaurant

After reading a lot of good reviews and buying some of their stuff from our local supermarket, we suddenly decided to try out Pradips. We, a group of 8 went in on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was quiet which seemed like an ideal venue for family parties. For the ambience, we would rate the restaurant at 7/10

Having looked through the menu, the items seemed impressive. Very few restaurants have a small description underneath every dish and we were impressed by Pradips for this. For starters we ordered the following:

Dahi Puri (9/10) - Delicious, one of the finest we had seen; Jeera Mogo (7/10) - Nicely prepared, the jeera flavour was a bit unusual but very good; Hara Bhara Kebab (8/10) - Highly recommended, full of greens to keep yourself fit.; Bean Wrap (3/10) - A bit disappointed with this one. Didn't taste like any of the Mexican wraps we usually are accustomed to.; Dahi Wada (8/10) - Looked fresh, tasted great.; Chilli Paneer (8/10) - Bit different but very nice

Our main course was fairly limited since we had a lot of the starters: Undhyu (7/10) - Good; Corn Paneer (8/10) - Paneer cooked very well; Roti (8/10) - Tasted as usual

Methu Paratha (9/10) - Rarely will you find such a paratha, fresh from the gas, tender and tasty.; Thali (8/10) - Good combination of hot curries and roti.

A gentleman called Sanketh took care of us while we feasted. He was just excellent in his service. The food was quick, we didnt have to wait for anything. Well done Sanketh, for this we would like to rate the service at 8.5/10

Overall, adding to all the ratings, it comes to 98.5/130. Overall we were very pleased.

Rani Vegetarian Restaurant

Went there with parents to celebrate their silver jubilee. Ordered the starters, they were not really great. Dahi puri had a lot of onions in it, the highest onion content Ive seen in any dish so far (3/10). Next came main course, so we decided for a change and ordered their highly publicised Masala dosa and the potato curry was too dry to eat and the actual dosa was crisp (3/10). At the same time we ordered some curry and naan which was good (7/10). In the end we ordered ice cream which was great (8/10).

Service is fast (8/10) Atmosphere is top class (8/10) Sadly, the restaurant can be a bit pricey for people who are not rich, £20 pp (6/10 on value)

The restaurant does need to improve its food if they have to compete with other Indian restaurants in Finchley.

Blue Ginger Bar Restaurant

Ive been to BJ three times till now and will always say this is a superb bar/restaurant. Their mixed platter is a boon for parties and tastes quite well. Their starters are top notch (8/10). Main courses are good (7/10), Desserts good taste but a small variety (8/10). It can be a bit pricey if you drink a lot (5/10). Overall, the ambience is great and can be a perfect venue for small office parties.

I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who likes good food coupled with great ambience.
