Jimmy's
This seems to have closed down. It used to be a good basic Greek place, nothing really special, but good tasty food.

Vinoteca (Marylebone)
A great place for a lazy Sunday lunch. I had cuttlefish, which were delicious followed by the best roast lamb I've had in ages and plenty of it. My friend had sardines on toast: he commented that the toast was too thick and the sardines a little bland. He followed this with the bavette - blue - and said that was very good. I followed all this with chocolate torte and my friend had cheese - although he was a bit concerned that only two were on offer.
Because they have a new range of wine coming soon, all the wines were available at shop price rather than the normal. This saved us a lot of money - all three bottles were at less than half price. A Slovenian sauvignon blanc, followed by Mount Horrocks shiraz and a little sweet Maury.
Definitely a place to return to - and good to see that they are opening in Soho soon.

Balans (Soho)
Popped in here for brunch while in town. Good, but pretty expensive. An omelette £7.95, two slices of toast £2.40, two coffees £4.80 - total including service £16.88. Now I call that quite expensive.
