I have walked past this place so many times in the past year or two, and seeing the classy exterior of Salt Yard really got my hopes up, so when I took my girlfriend here last month I was really pleased when everything about this restaurant exceeded even my high expectations. In hindsight I got a bit lucky because I unknowingly booked the best table in the whole restaurant – there’s a table for two at the back on the top floor, which is perfect for a romantic meal as it’s just far away enough from the noisy main area for you to get a bit of peace and quiet. The seats are comfortable and the décor in general looks cool and sophisticated.
Most of all, I was very happy with the quality of the food. The menu changes quite often I think, so maybe what I’m about to mention might not always be there – but the sea bass and also the chargrilled beef we had were both outstanding, and neatly presented. In fact, all of the dishes we tried were excellent, including the vegetarian dishes such as the padrón peppers. Overall, we were well fed for quite a reasonable price, considering the good service and ambience. I also loved the chocolate cake I had for dessert. The only problem I had was with the wine list – despite its plethora of options, the cheapest bottle of rosé on there is £26.50, which was beyond my budget unfortunately! However, the bottle of white wine we had was very good. I rate this restaurant very highly and I hope I can go back soon.

Excellent restaurant! The service is quick and attentive, and there is quite a large variety of food on the menu. Most of all, the standard of the food is extremely high (we had 7 dishes and they were all very good) – in particular I recommend the roasted sweet potatoes, the steak with cherry tomatoes and also the duck with pears and redcurrants. It is generally good value for money, but I have to say that some of the dishes in the vegetarian section of the menu were overpriced – especially the rice and also the padrón peppers, both of which are priced at £5.70 each. That is simply too much for a small dish of rice and a small dish of peppers.
But overall the food was exceptional and I’m sure I will be going back again. The lunchtime offer of 3 tapas dishes for the price of 2 seems like great value.

I went to La Forchetta on Saturday night and I thought it was quite good. The service isn’t as sharp as it could be, but the atmosphere in the restaurant was good and overall the meal we had was definitely above average. The bruschetta starter I had was great, as was the sirloin steak I had as the main course. I would consider going back again.

Having seen the positive reviews on this site, we went to Terra on Friday night last week and it certainly didn't disappoint. It ticks all the right boxes: superb food, great service, nice atmosphere and good value for money.
The menu is well balanced and from the courses we had, the quality of food was consistently high. The mixed grill I had was very good, as was the excellent truffle-style dessert with vanilla ice cream. Another thing worth praising is the service, which was outstanding throughout. It was service with a smile, which is a rare commodity these days! Efficient service makes a huge difference and when I was there it was extremely good.
The restaurant itself has a good atmosphere and was never too loud. Even the toilets were quite good, so overall Terra is a great all-rounder. I will definitely be going back.
