I'm regularly popping in into Yautcha for a tea. Normally it's a fine place (the interioor alone deserves a separate review... perhaps the best thing about that place). To my knowledge Yauatcha has also got a Michelin star... but I cannot forget what happened once when I was ordering tea with my friends. One of my friends (a woman) asked if she could get a different sort of tea and this seemed to have upset the waitress! She served the tea like if she was extremely ungappy about the request and that is a Michelin rated place! I can't understand in what way they are managing to keep it with this kind of service. And the whole atmosphere doesn;t seem too delightful when it comes to the behviour of the staff. It's that "finish your stuff and get the hell out of here" attitude... or at least that's the impression I get sometimes.
It's not enough to have a flashy and sexy interior (again, my praises to it, it's sure one of the best interiors in London!), the customers should also be treated appropriately. I don;t care about the price that much (my incomes can let me go there on a regular basis) but I do want a good and respectful service regardless if I'm just having a tea or ordering a £100 dish. Simple.
