The service at the Chelsea Brasserie was so poor that we asked that the 12.5% service charge be taken off the bill. As the restaurant was emptying out at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, we had to ask for drinks 3 times before they were served, which took 45 minutes because no one was paying attention to our desperate signs. We would have left, had we not aked friends to join us there later. When we ordered food, they would not compromise on any dishes on the menu, they plainly refused to ask the chef if we could have the salad with the dressing on the side. Of course, the food came a while later, cold, and the three of us were served at different times. And they forgot one side dish. The food was not great but definitely costly. After we complained several times that we had to wait so long for drinks and food, they did not even apologize, let alone offer complimentary coffees or anything else. That's why we kindly asked for the service to be taken off, which did not trigger any reaction whatsoever. They just took the bill and brought if back without the charge. Bizarre. Do they actually care about having customers? We will never go back.
