Gourmet Garden

We decided to visit after hearing a review on LBC radio (97.3), which was entirely positive, even glowing. We visited at 8.00pm on 01.12.07, and were sadly disappointed. We waited forty five minutes for our starter to arrive, another twenty for our second course, which was the correct dish but intended for another table, we began eating it to then have it promptly removed from under our noses. Another twenty minute wait followed. The main course was bog standard, like any other high street Chinese, in fact it lacked salt and was incorrectly seasoned for such a regional dish. The service was poor to say the least, rushed, inefficient and rude. We were brought the wrong type of coffee which was sent back, and rudely taken away by the waitress, when I told the waitress to remove the service charge she still added it to the bill, and charged it to my credit card. The owner/manager then appeared who refunded the service charge.
