I decided to try this place after having a lovely evening drinks with some friends at the bar 2 weeks ago. (great cocktails well executed by Matt the bar manager, a charmer from the States)
So, we decided for sunday lunch, and what a pleasant surprise, we were not disapointed at all - great atmosphere and lovely roast - what impressed us was the 'new bluebird' - very modern decor, sharp service and great food with reasonable pricing.
We sat on the middle banquette, the waitress serving us was charming and welcoming - very attentive throughout our lunch. The sommelier was efficient in her recommendation too. Food was great, starter with the scallops and oysters - then 2 roast - dessert was creme brulee and cheesecake.
Yes Bluebird is great and if you have not been there for a long time - do so as the place is now a fantastic venue and forget those malicious comments left constantly by people that only want some freebee. I certainly will go back and Bluebird has gained a new customer and supporter!

Lets put the record straight, some people seem to find ever so amusing to criticize this restaurant but we had one of the most memorable evening last Saturday. We arrived at 830pm, booked for 9pm went to the bar for cocktails (Try their chocolate martini - fantastic), we ask if a terrace table would be available? we waited, enjoyed our drinks and a very professional lady escorted us (910pm) at our table (and it was outside). Food was of very high standards, we started with the smoked salmon and the peas/truffle salad and shared a ChateauBriand (it was perfectly cooked, served on hot plates) and finished with cheese and a carpaccio of Pineapple. the wine list is one of the best I have read in long time, we decided to go for a Phelan Segur 2001. Overall, perfect and attentive service and good food with a beautiful view over the Bridge. My suggestion to all that complaints would be maybe to start to be less arogant, more disciplined with yourselves as well. A packed restaurant is certainly one that is doing more then just well - sign of success can only be commented and valued. In the last 3 weeks, I have been to Claridge's, Mirabelle and Wolseley - they all provided me with good experiences and value for money. I would never dream of giving my money for frozen pizza! bon appetit.
