Ended up in here on a Friday night after the restaurant we planned to attend was such a huge dissappointment. We were dining on a special offer from the Telegraph and so headed to this option as they were able to take our late booking.

Found a lovely relaxed atmosphere with a good French menu. There was a good choice despite being a special offer menu. Both enjoyed pate to start, the course country style pate was particularly good. For mains we had a crepe which was enourmous and very tasty, and went with our waitress's recommendation of the stuffed chicken breast. This was fantastic, poached chicken stuffed with leek and apsaragus then served in a rich creamy sauce with frites.

The whole experience was greatly added to by our our waitress who was warm, enthusiastic and efficient. She made the evening from the moment we arrived. It was great to be served by someone who truely enjoyed their job and had a good knowledge of the menu and wine list.

I have read somem negative reviews of this place and did note some odd menu items on the main menu which were clearly not French but for quality food in a relaxed atmosphere this was an excellent choice.

Chez Liline

I recently rediscovered this restaurant and felt compelled to review the fantastic food. We shared both starter and main course from the specials menu as were unable to choose between them. The smoked halibut with mango was particularly good as a starter, unusual with a clean, fresh taste. The main courses of red mullet and swordfish were fantastic, particularly the tamarind sauce.

It is a shame that this little restaurant on Stroud Green Rd only five minutes form Finsbury Park tube station is so quiet. There is no trendy decor but the food speaks for itself. French style cuisine with a Mauritian twist of spicy and exotic flavours. All on the base of excellent fresh fish from the shop next door.

The wine list was excellent and aided by the knowledge of staff who provided an excellent recommendation.

I would highly recommend this restaurant for the top quality seafood at a very reasonable price. Just don't be put off by the lack of other customers which can be a problem, particularly mid week.

I hada booked a meal for two here on Friday night. On arrival found the bar dominated by a private party, it smelt of stale beer and the restaurant was closed. We left without eating.
