Haweli of Clapham

We LOVE Haweli - the service is impeccable and attentive almost to the point of embarressment, the food is always amazing - particularly recommend the saag aloo - but everything we have tried has been amazing.

We are treated like old friends whenever we come into the restaurant (embarrasingly about once a week on average for the past 8 months!!) - and are often spoilt with complimentary wine, beer and shots after the meal.

Donna Margherita

We went to Donna Margherita last Wednesday and were thoroughly impressed with the whole experience - from the authentic-feeling "Italian-ness", service, wine list and amazing food.

My 3 dining companions had the lamb ragu special which was melt in your mouth amazing, and made me realise what "al dente" pasta meant. I had the calzone which was the best I've had in years of trying many!

The low point of the experience was being seated right at the kitchen door, but this meant we got to watch the charismatic chefs preparing the food (VERY clean kitchen!) - so was not a worry in the end.

We will definitely be back - one of those restaurants you can take someone to and know that they will come out happy and impressed.

Pepper Tree

I agree that the Pepper Tree is great for a quick, cheap, tasty meal - not great for a long meal or in-depth catching up due to the communal tables, noise and speed with which you are served and cleared, but great for a mid-week quick meal.
