The Paddyfield

We went to this restaurant on Saturday night, and whilst food was very nice, the service was unbelievably rude!

We waited half an hour for our spring roll starters, which we didn’t mind at the time, but then a few minutes after finishing our main courses, we were asked to leave because other people were waiting for a table! We were not offered desserts, though having been effectively turfed out, we didn't bother asking. They then had the audacity to put a 12.5% service charge on the bill! We refused to pay it and said we didn’t appreciate being thrown out, especially given that the service had been pretty slow to start with, and the waiter happily agreed that the service had been bad, made no real attempt at an apology, and tried to justify it by saying they were busy. The impression he gave was that he didn’t care what we thought so long as we got out.

I think this place has become a victim of its own success. The food may be nice, but not nice enough to tolerate the rudeness of its staff. I won’t be going back.
