mogul indian restaurant

Disappointing. Food bog standard, dry chicken covered in sauce.

Service disappointing. Manager upstairs, needs training in customer service.

At end of meal, he came to table and asked: "Finished?" And cleared table without another word. Then nothing at all until a half-hearted "thank you" after he handed back my debit card.

It's also expensive for the food you get.

It's a shame because the setting downstairs is full of alcoves, almost like a wine cellar.

They also have no Indian competition in Greenwich town centre, so they seem s little smug, and indifferent.

There was definite frostiness when I ordered my drink, tap water with ice.

Really wish a decent Indian would open in Greenwich town centre, they would clean up.

Excellent. How anyone can fault the food is here is beyond me.

Went for Valentine's Dinner, and terrific as usual.

Wife said the duck was the best dish she'd ever tasted.

Sort of place they could serve the food you hate most and it would still be delicious.

Just hope they don't take eye off the ball, as they've recently bought a pub down the road, the Guildford Arms, and are opening a restaurant there, too.

The Old Brewery

Excellent. Great food, service, beer, and atmosphere. Stylish yet relaxed. Well looked after by Xavier.

A class above anything else in the area.

Would recommend the hake, especially with delicious crab meat.

Chapters All Day Dining

Avoid...went for tea, not impressed. Cold, tasteless scones ("that's the way we serve them") plonked on table, then had to wait 10 mins for the clotted cream and jam to be plonked on table. Wrong bill presented. No thanks or farewell by four under-employed staff chatting among themselves by entrance as we left. Cancelled dinner for Saturday. Won't be going back.

Go to Inside in Greenwich instead for great food and great service.

Meson Don Felipe

Avoid. Came out of the brilliant Annie Get Your Gun matinee performance last Saturday - and this place killed the joyous mood of our party stone dead.

Went in at about 5pm to a virtual empty restaurant and was greeted by a stone-faced, middle-aged woman with a clipboard. Without so much as a welcome or even a hello, the first thing she said was: "You have to vacate the table by 7.30pm." We said that would be no problem.

She then proceeded to the worst table in the empty restaurant, behind the central bar, right next to the kitchen entrance. Sensing this was going to be thoroughly unpleasant experience, we turned on our heels and walked out.

My advice? Eat at the Young Vic restaurant instead.

Water Margin (The O2)

Avoid, it's a rip off. They refuse to serve tap water, charging 50p a glass instead for 'purified' water. Also they charge an extra £1 on event nights for the buffet for no other reason than to cash in.

Food is tired, and pretty tasteless. Some dishes look as though they've been there for hours. Waiters and waitresses as soulless as the restaurant space itself.

No wonder it was deserted downstairs, and pretty empty upstairs when we had the misfortune to go.

Excellent dim sum, great roast belly pork, friendly service, loadsa chinese eating here, but...odd tasting fruit juices. Our orange and pineapple juices had to be sent back.
