Having just returned from holidaying in Kerala I was eager to sample the food again and The Kerala did not disappoint. I had the King Prawn Poori as my starter and it was absolutely exquisite, the prawns were not only massive but tasted brilliant. For my main course, I chose the meen and mango (a fish curry) with spinach and dhal and lemon rice. My friend chose the masala dosa (absolutely massive) with the chick peas (really tasty). The meal was brilliant, I think ordering a selection of dishes and sharing is a great way to taste it all and everything I tried was of superb quality. The waiters were on hand to help with our choice and attentive. I also found out that they are all native to Kerala which makes a big difference in terms of knowing good Keralan food.
The wine selection was very good. I choose the Chilean cabernet sauvignon and it went down well with the food. Having tried other Keralan restaurants, I really think you canít beat the authenticity of The Kerala. Itís home cooked food done remarkably well. I canít wait to go back again.
