We visited this restaurant last Friday and were quite disappointed overall.

My starter was lukewarm on the outside and cold in the middle.

My partner's steak was very chewy and had lots of gristle in it which was inedible.

The waiting staff totally ignored us once we'd received our food and only came to speak to us again when it was time for us to leave so someone else could have our table (despite the fact that there were several other tables free!)

The bill came to just short of £100 for two of us which was quite a lot for a very disappointing meal.

Not terrible. Just not very good.

The food in here wasn't bad - quite unusual and reasonably tasty. However, the same stuff keeps turning up in all of the dishes.

The decor and conditions were extremely poor. The carpets on the stairwell down to the disgusting toilets are filthy and generally the place looks like it needs a good clean.

The service was dreadful. We arrived from a comedy gig at around 9.45pm but were almost shoved out of the door at 10.40, less than an hour later!! They were slow at bringing out our food or clearing plates away and then they brought our bill whilst we were eating our main course!!! No desserts for us then!

The staff were miserable and slouched around looking fed up.

Nice food, shame about the service and the decor.

I think the staff in this place have been reading their reviews on this web site because when we went there on Friday they were EXTREMELY happy (possibly TOO happy?!) and were running around like crazy people.

The food was OK, but not brilliant. My starter of bruschetta was more like pizza but was very tasty. But my main course was a risotto with smoked bacon in it and it was very, very salty indeed. I didn't finish it.

I don't think I'll go back and eat here again, although its probably worth visiting once. The atmosphere was very good, lots of chat and a good feel to it.
