Now that this is Mr Mountain's main focus, I was hoping it would live up to the previous meals I have had not only here but also at the Pumphouse. Unfortunately when we ate here (table for 2 8.30pm on a quiet Friday night), he wasn't at the helm, and as such it was a very poor evening. The waiting staff were all over the shop, we had to wait 10 minutes to get a glass for our water, both our starters went back as they were cold. The mains were OK, but the dessert, a strawberry cheesecake, was a whole digestive biscuit as the base, with an unset mousse on top. The chef had not even been bothered to make a proper biscuit base. I couldn't beleive it. This will not stop us going here in the future as we have usually had a great night, but I couldn't believe how a place could go from the sublime to the ridiculous just because the owner isn't there

Went for first time having sampled both J Sheekey and The Ivy in Caprice Holdings stable. Restaurant was very busy even on a Tuesday night. Excellent food. Our table had the shellfish risotto/seafood cocktail/oysters/razor clams to start, which were all excellent, followed by the skate wing/dressed crab/lamb with sweetbreads/risotto for main. We just had coffees and a nice bottle of wine at £30 and the bill came to £290 for 4 people, so all in all very good value.
