The Ritz Restaurant

I took my better half to the Ritz, being American I hoped she would like an old school British gastronomic institution. I was not disappointed. The restaurant looks amazing, the staff were friendly, polite and attentive (not too attentive). The food was quite simply, amazing. My missus had venison in chocolate sauce which was amazing. We're both pretty fussy and I could not fault this place. 5* in every respect.

First Floor Restaurant

Fantastic restaurant (in some respects). Unusual, gothic decor, great atmosphere, chandeliers, high ceilings, faded charm etc. Food was pretty good, not outstanding, price excellent - very reasonable. Service, bit slow. If you're in a rush don't go here, but if you want a leisurely lunch or dinner with mates, it's fantastic.

Dumplings' Legend

I'm a little surprised at the criticism. This is a Chinatown restaurant, the service is always going to be a little brusk. I went here with my girlfriend who is a serious foodie. All of the food came quickly, the service was efficient and the quality of the food was excellent. For Chinatown, the decor is crisp and modern, the atmosphere busy and buzzy, the value very reasonable. Thumbs up all round.
