Decided to make use of the Special offer advertised on this site to have a get together with my wife's and some old friends.

The staff there were polite and understanding when we informed them upon arrival that the numbers attending were less that what we booked for due to last minute pull outs.

I started with the Bruschetta for starters, which I found tasty, and my wife had the soup of the day, which was spinach soup and was well made, not too runny or salty. For mains, I had the Italian Sausage, which according to my wife had a strong pork smell but nevertheless tasted nice, especially with the mash and caramelised shallots! My wife had the Greek pasta which I found to be a bit too oily for my liking, although the dish was tasty. The highlight of the dinner was the desert, which I would have just gone to the restaurant forÖ I had the Tiramisu, which was soft, creamy and not too sickeningly sweet as some that Iíve had before; needless to say my desert plate was quite clean when it was removed by the waitress! My wife had the Tartufo Nero, which I also enjoyed picking at after I finished off my tiramisu, this I found was a bit sweeter and a joy to eat for all who have a sweet tooth!

Overall, I found the place to be enjoyable, itís not near a noisy road so is quiet and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff were helpful in explaining the dishes and ingredients and the food was delightful! A real steal for only £12.95!

Definitely a place I will come back to and eat. Also a place to recommend to friends!

Palm Court Brasserie

A group of us decided to take up the special offer for dinner last monday. The majority of us arrived on time for dinner, but 2 of the group were running late. The restaurant staff were kind enough to allow us the table to sit at till the final 2 friends arrived (about 45 mins late). The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice, we sat near the front of the restaurant where the bar was so it was not as noisy as the back. The place was well lit and the use of candles created a good mood.

We ordered our meals, I had the brocolli soup of the day - which was nice but a bit too watery for my liking and no bread was provided. My wife had the foie gras parfait which was delicious. For mains, a few of us ordered the rib eye steak and the medium and well done options looked exactly the same. The fries that came with it were too salty and reminded me of the fries you get from Mc Ds. Apart from those niggles, the steak was tasty! A few others ordered the salmon, which looked a bit sad when it arrived as it was such a small piece on a large plate full of veg. I was told it was not that bad in taste. For deserts, I had the apple crumble which was very sweet, I believe they added extra sugar to compensate for the sourish nature of the apples. My wife had the ice-cream and the waitress was kind enough to allow us 3 scoops of icecream than 2.

On the whole, the night was fun for all of us, the food was not the best I've had but for the price we were paying for the 3 courses it was worth it!

A place I'll probably go back to in the near future if the offer is still on. On the other hand, one of my friends enjoyed it so much that they want to visit again!
