Hare and Tortoise (Putney)

We ordered two stir-fry noodle dishes which were tasty but a bit too greasy. Nonetheless, the standard was better than Wagamama and much cheaper. Service was OK, but it was not a busy time.

Very good value for money but don't expect fireworks.

Kulu Kulu Sushi (Shelton St)

Not the best sushi place in London (especially in terms of freshness), but it's OK on a value for money basis.

The chefs have a stupid habit of putting hot food on the conveyor belt so that it eventually turns stone cold. I don't understand why they don't make hot food to order only as no one in their right mind is going to touch this.

I like the agedashi tofu, nasu goma and soft shell crab handroll. I only eat here because it is cheap and cheerful - nothing special. Don't expect the best or freshest sushi restaurant.

Gail's (Battersea)

Food was OK but rather mediocre and over-priced. Service was impersonal and haphazard. I wouldn't go there again based on value for money or service.

Pho (Wardour St)

The Pho group of restaurants is a welcome addition to the London restaurant scene. I've eaten here on numerous occasions and the food has always been fresh and tasty. Prices represent great value - cheaper then Wagamama but with superior food and bigger portions.

My favourites are the pho noodle soups, bun noodles and the curries - most of the menu basically! Service has always been good.

YO! Sushi (Fulham)

Had lunch here yesterday and was sorely disappointed. The quality and freshness was awful and the portions tiny. Talk about trying to squeeze every last penny out of you. The yakisoba was acidic, the sushi stale and dry. They charge you for 'filtered' water - what a joke! To top things off, the prices were expensive for the slop you got.

I also had to ask for the table to be wiped down as yesterday's food was still there...nice hygiene standards.

I agree with the reviews below. This place is an insult to Japanese food. God only knows what real Japanese people would say - they would be shocked. Avoid at all costs.

Ziloufs

The food I ordered was over-priced and awful. I had a vegetable noodle curry concoction that was bland, tasteless, heavy and just terrible. My friends all tasted what I had and felt sorry for me! Furthermore, it was part of a laughable special offer where you paid £16 for 2 courses - you choose from mains at £10.50 and starters at £6 - saving you a whooping 50p - amazing offer! Would not recommened - go spend a silly amount of money for terrible food elsewhere.
