Market
I have recently moved to Camden and was very keen to try this place out as I had read some favourable reviews in a few weekend newspaper supplements.
I was not disappointed! For the price the food and wine list is excellent. I had the mutton prosciutto (unusual but delicious) and figs to start, followed by the pork belly and a treacle sponge pudding for dessert. My boyfriend's dishes were also all excellent, in particular the onglet and chips. All were cooked and presented perfectly, and the service was friendly and efficient. The bill came to just under 100 pounds, including 3 courses for 2, wine and service at 12.5%. A bargain!

Mien Tay
I used to live in Hoxton Street and as a result, have spent a lot of time in the Viet restaurants along Kingsland Road. Mien Tay is has recently been taken over by new management and chef and it definitely shows.
It's not as busy as the larger more established restaurants along the street, but I have no idea why as Mien Tay is the best by a mile! The manager is polite and attentive, and the food is superb. It's authentic, cheap and delicious with the menu being slightly more varied and interesting than most of the other restaurants. You can also take your own wine and beer in there, with the manager even opening and pouring your drinks himself!
I recently went there with 8 friends and it came to 10 pounds a head, including 2 courses and a generous tip for the superb manager who served us. We took our own booze in which kept the price down but I seriously can't recommend this place enough, it's fantastic!
