Clos Maggiore

We visited Clos Maggiore for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The staff were friendly, charming and efficient. The food was superb. We're both looking forward to returning there soon.

St James's Restaurant

I went to Andaman for a business lunch for two. The decor is very pleasing and the tables for two were spacious and the chairs very comfortable. The staff were enthusiatic, although a bit stressed it seemed.

I had the beef fillet with singapore noodles and chinese vegetables. The veg were nice and favoursome, the beef ok and the noodles a bit bland actually. My colleague had the calves liver which she said was superb. For dessert, we both had the citrus tasting menu which was lovely.

The wooden floor looks great but is very noisy and so that whenever anyone walks through the restaurant, or down the corridor adjacent to the restaurant, it sounds like a herd of elephants. Perhaps the staff could wear shoes with soft soles to deaded the noise?

Overall - it was very nice - but not so fantastic that I would rush back again next week.
