I am genuinely surprised by the negative views here. My girlfriend and I have eaten at Gastro's regularly for the last year, and the most recent visit was the best. The service is French, so they just need a little managing - look them in the eye and they will treat you the same way. The food (invariably steak) is simple and well executed, a creme brulee one of the best i have had. A recommended (always makes them happy if you ask) bottle of Gamay arrived cold and vibrant. A visit to Racine, which while undoubtedly competent, lacked heart, and just proved to me that I will always prefer a restaurant run by humans not rules. Go, engage, and you will (hopefully) be rewarded.

This website has yet to let me down - the choosy team from Italy back again, and not let down. Tandoori chicken disappeared from the plate of the not hungry member, meat across the board fantastically tender as it had been appropriately marinated. Good vegetable sides, fresh breads and cold beer, only let down, relatively, was the poppadum dips. Quick friendly service, good value, old school cosy decor. I was concerned with the 'tourist trap' concerns here and from a friend. Ignore.
