Hudsons

There are very mixed reviews of Hudson's but I still gave it a go on Saturday. It does not bill itself to be a gastronomic experience but overall the food was great. My pork belly was of a good size and was served with fresh vegetables and some dauphinoise potatoes. The menu is extensive with a hint of Mexican oddly enough but there is plenty on offer to suit most people's tastes. Meal for 4 of us with at least 3 bottles of wine came to around 100 pounds. Not bad at all. I would not necessarily go here every week but it is nice enough once in a while when you are looking for a reasonably inexpensive meal of good quality.

Chosan

Disappointing.

After reading generally positive reviews of Chosan we thought we would give it a go on Saturday. We certainly were not afraid of the 70''s décor and plastic food in the window as after 4yrs living in Tokyo, this is actually a good sign normally!!

Overall though we were a little disappointed. The sushi/sashimi boat was OK but the sashimi came in quite thick cuts and the fish was not of great quality, rather chewy with too much gristle. The rice underneath the nigiri-sushi was not well formed either, and did not taste as good as other restaurants I have been too.

Whilst the restaurant has quite an authentic feel about it, I did not enjoy my £80 bill after simply the boat, soba noodles, some fried chicken and tempura (by far the nicest dish though). For those SW Londoners looking for their Japanese fix, there are other restaurants is Fulham for example that offer a far better experience.

The Depot

Food was OK but nothing to write home about.

Service from the French staff was very sharp veering on rude at times and I felt we were rushed having only sat around 9.30.

Would not go again.
