Cafe East

Really great place which is always busy, you often need to wait for a table which plenty of people happily do. It is filled with oriental people dining which I take to be a good sign in this kind of restaurant.

The menu is not that extensive but the food is fresh, big portions and really tasty. This is the tastiest pho I have had in London, all other dishes I've tried are delicious.

The decor is pretty plain but the place is clean and it's a place you just come to for good food rather than setting.

The Thailand Restaurant

Ok food, some dishes pretty good others are a bit disappointing. The menu is massive with so many dishes but I think it would be better if they stuck to a smaller menu of freshly prepared dishes. Some things we have ordered are definitely frozen and reheated, sometimes not all the way through...still cold in the middle as the microwave didn't heat evenly.

Staff are friendly and smiley, service is a bit haphazard though. I think the dishes are too expensive though for the size of portion and quality. I think the place does well as there is a lack of decent places in the area but does not really match up to Thai places in this price range elsewhere.

Feng Sushi (Borough Market)

Have been here 3 times, once some time ago and twice in the last few weeks. The menu has changed over time and the portions don't seem as generous as they used to be at all. Some dishes do feel like a bit of a rip off, for example a soba noodle salad costing £6 which when it arrives looks like a small side dish and is half lettuce. The seafood spring rolls supposedly contained crab and prawns amongst other things but my friend and I commented you couldn't see or taste this at all - just loads of noodles. Maki rolls & tempura were good however.

I think it's quite pricey here, to fill ourselves up £50 and £66 another time for two with soft drinks only. Service is ok when it's not too busy, when it is staff seem really stretched & it's hard to get attention. I won't rush back but hope next time I do go it's a bit better.
