Bombay Flame

Had dinner here a few nights ago. We were the only diners, although it was mid week. Food was so so, some of if was tasty, but most of it was either too bland or far too spicy.

Portion sizes were good with lots of food left over, service was excellent throughout and the bill exceptionally good value with the taste card. I wouldn't go again as I think, whilst their prices are low, the taste just didn't quite hit the mark for us.

Sundarban

Excellent food, I have both dined in and got take away from this local restaurant on many an occassion. The food is excellent and prices are very reasonable. When dining in, service is mediocre however the food more than made up for that.

La Sophia

Have they changed chefs recently? It seems so because the food is no even close to what it used to be. A group of us went to La Sophia for dinner. They have since changed their decor and menu since my last visit. I was thoroughly looking forward to the divine steak with foie gras and hot chocolate fondant I had enjoyed on my previous visit only two months earlier. Unfortunately I was out of luck. Despite the good service, all three of the "medium rare" steaks we ordered came fully cooked and the miniscule slice of fois gras on top was incredibly oily. There was no sign of a chocolate pudding on the menu. Instead, we settled for an average tasting cold chocolate tart. With the special offer, prices are reasonable at £25 for a three course meal with a drink but the food isn't what it used to be. Once a regular haunt of mine, no longer will be on my list.

The India

I have been here quite a few times now, with my last dine being yesterday for dinner using a toptable redemption meal. I can't say I agree with the comments below, I have always and still find the food extremely tasty, service very good and no pushy waiters. The drinks are slightly more than average but if you book using the special offer which seems to be constantly available, you can get a very reasonable two course meal in beautiful surrounds coupled with good service for less than £25.

Raj Moni Indian Cuisine

What a lovely restaurant. Booked here as part of the £15 deal for a starter, main course, side dish, naan and rice. We could have any dish except fish. It was very good value for money, although the normal prices are quite a bit above average with a standard curry being around £9-£10. Food was very good, service good, it was a shame we were the only people there on a Friday night. I'd definitely go again but only if there was a special offer.
