Swan at the Globe

Went for the pre theatre.

Ummm.....5 slices of chorizo, 2 slices of ham, 4 bits of bread, a dip of cottage cheese another of tomato sauce (confit). For 2, not much of a starter.

Main - Fish or chicken, they were ok, nicely cooked

Dessert - cold apple crumble, with cream that was i guess as close as you can get to milk. And the crumble didn't taste of apple.

so not a very good score. 30% less and it would have been good value, I guess its for the tourists with the A1 location.

La Menara

This must be a different restaurant to the one I went to as thought the food was dull and poor, service average and the restaurant smelt damp.

over priced for what seemed to be either the same chicken dish or the same minced lamb dish. avoid.

Satay House

I have been here a number of times and enjoyed it each time.

The food is tasty and well cooked, and its reasonably inexpensive.

The downside is the staff are a bit slow.

OXO Tower Restaurant

Yep, this is good food.

A fine all-round dining experience.

Good service, nice wine, nice food what more can you want. Not cheap however.

Terra

This is a nice litle bistro that is very good value for money.

Food is good, wine is nice.

I would recommned the a la carte rather than the discounted menus as it is alot better and if you add up the cost it is about £5 more expensive and considerabley nicer.

I particulary liked the lamb and the pasta dishes are pretty good aswell.

No, No, No. Never again.

When I book a table I expect it to be available within 15mins of the booked time, not 45 mins.

So now to the food. The mezze is OK. However the mains are not particularly nice. overcooked, flavourless are the words that spring to mind.

Service is poor, the waits seem to alternate between trying to remove the plates before you finish to hiding when you want something. The wine, recomended by the waiter was also poor

I have tried good Lebanese food and wine, this is not it

I have to confess that I am bemused as to why this restaurant get good reviews. I have been here twice and I can honestly say the food is not great. It is edible, it is just bland and dull.

The service is good, however.

Kam Fung

Went here for the first time in about 10 years. It is as good as I remember.

Starter of Aromatic Shreaded duck was a large portion

Had the Seafood Hot Pot and Sizzling Shichain Chicken

Large portions and good food

Incanto

A good italian-ish restaurant

Food is good, atmosphere is reasonable, the service is a bit slow even with a half full restaurant on a wednesday night.

Jack's Place

This is a good old fashioned steak house.

Food is well cooked and the restaurant is characterful. Staff friendly.

Don't judge it from the outside, appearances are deceptive
