Marcus Wareing at the Savoy Grill

Its the Savoy so I never expected it to be cheap. Even with the £30 menu, as its the extras that make the meal special that cost the most (ours ended up being £209 but then the cheese board was pretty damn worth it). That said, the meal was solidly good without being truly exceptional as a whole.

The place itself is pleasantly not too stuffy while still being formal; unrushed but effecient, the staff were very friendly.

We had a very good evening in all. Not likely to make it a regular haunt but definatley glad that we went.

Now if I can only find the recipe for the potatoes...
